Q. Pell Grant - What is a Pell Grant?

A. Unlike popular government loans such as the Stafford Loan and the Perkins Loan, a Pell Grant does not need to be repaid. Pell Grant eligibility is determined according financial need, using a formula established by Congress. Funds are distributed by the colleges either by direct payments to the student or through a credit to a term bill or other account.

Pell Grants are available to part-time students on a pro-rated basis.
